How To Edit A Document

To edit an existing document, please follow the steps mentioned below.

  1. Go to the page by selecting it from the 'navigation menu'.
  2. If it is a documentation page of any technology, it will be based on a template with various sections defined. Please take the cursor to 'edit this page' button on the top menu bar as you will hover on it, you will see subset of choices.
  3. Select 'edit (sections)'. It will give you options of 'edit' button on the right side of each section.
  4. You can click on 'edit' button of any section you want to edit and add the content. While adding the content, please do not delete the default syntex visible there. If you are editing, you can replace the words/ sentences you feel need to be edited. You can add the text you want to.
  5. Do not forget to click on 'save' button after you are done with editing.
  6. If you want to edit any page other than technology documentation that is not based on a template, you can simply take the cursor on 'edit this page' button on the top menu bar and select 'edit this page' option by clicking on it. Do save the document before closing it.
  7. If you want to upload any file as attachment to any page, you can do so by going to 'other tools' button in the top menu. And then choose 'manage files'. We advise you not to upload an file larger than 1Mb. As far as possible, please keep the file size smaller. Photos should also be downsized to ensure that file size is not larger than 300-400 Kb. Smaller ones will still be preferable.
  8. We prefer to upload photos on AinA-wiki picasa web album and then embed those here. This saves space here. We can help you do this. Please get in touch with us through email.
  9. With some practice, you will soon be able to manage very well, it is not so difficult. To seek any further help, please send us a mail on admin(at)aina-wiki(dot)org. We will help you out.
